The Taketsuru Pure Malt was named after the founder of Nikka, Masataka Taketsuru, who is also known as the father of Japanese whisky. You can imagine that this blend must be pretty legendary to be named after such an important figure.
The Taketsuru 17 is a premium blend containing Nikka whiskies which have been aged for no less than 17 years. Fresh tropical fruit and thick, oaky honey on the nose meet a delightful spiciness on the palate. Cocoa and orange make an appearance and linger until the end.
