The White Oak distillery was founded in 1888 to produce sake, and was the first Japanese distillery to obtain a license to distil whisky, in 1919. Since then they have gone on to become popular with avid drinkers in Japan and beyond and have a whole range of brilliant expressions to choose from. This bottling is a fine blend of malt and grain whiskies that is very lightly peated, and matured in ex-bourbon, shochu and virgin oak casks. It’s a real gem and one that you should try if given the chance.
